Supertron Infotech’s tech insight about Android Oreo!

Android Oreo is the latest version of Google's mobile platform, and by far the best version Google ever came up with. And being one of the best mobile app development companies in Kolkata, Supertron Infotech is diving into the pool of this update and brings to you a total analysis of this Android version. In Android 8.0 Google has focused more on speed and efficiency rather than a grand visual change, instead of expanding feature sets they refined what already exists. Google has given more attention on improving battery life, security and performance stability for a better user interaction and control, Android Oreo lets you customize everything, from app background activity log and permissions to how you get notifications. Android Oreo represents the most matured version of Android mobile platform and also the most comprehensive version too, it is stable, feature rich and functional with much improved usability.

Lot of features those were first introduced in Nougat, found its true home in Oreo, with faster boot time and supercilious more control over the device. Features like Picture-in-Picture mode (PiP) and Android Instant Apps can be a game changer. Other than these, there are plenty of feature that is going to make you like Smart Oreo device even more. Below are the list of features which are most prominent in Android Oreo:

Picture-in-Picture mode (PiP) - It is Android Oreo's flagship feature; it was previously available for Android TV. It's a special type of multi-window feature mostly for video playback which lets you keep watching video's in a small floating window while going about your Android business.

Custom Notifications - It will support display dots, which tells you which app has unmarked notification, apart from this it also supports badges and on app launcher icon. With custom notification you can snooze notifications for apps to your convenience and customize what you want to see, when you want to see from a particular app.

Auto Fill framework - No more repetitive tasks like account login and credit card transaction, Android O does the login and credit card form fill-ups for you, making the process faster and more convenient.

Adaptive Icons - Android Oreo supports visual effects and animation in launcher icons, increasing consistency of the android experience across devices from multiple OEM's.

In-App Pinning - Introducing In-App pinning of shortcuts and widgets, you can now custom pin shortcuts and widgets for launchers.

Multiple Display - Android O offers multiple-display feature, you can move activity from one window to the other and specify which window an app will launch from.

Power Saving - This is a huge one, with this Google is putting a break on resource hungry app processes by limiting app-background activity; it reduces app's implicit broadcasts, background services and location updates. You can also find out which app consumes the most battery and limit its permissions and activity, cutting app-background activity Oreo enhances battery life.

Wi-Fi Aware - Also known as Neighbour Awareness Networking. Wi-Fi Aware lets you create micro Wi-Fi network with other hardware compatible devices, App's will be able to communicate back and forth from other connected devices with or without internet connection. Wi-Fi Assistant will allow you to automatically connect to high quality public wireless networks.

Bluetooth 5 - Android Oreo supports Bluetooth 5, which doubles the data throughput over short distances or quadruples the range with less through put. Although number of devices using Bluetooth 5 is close to zero now, it is an investment in the future.

Android Instant Apps - Ability to use an app without installing it on your phone is a revolutionary idea. It's for the App's you use occasionally, Android Instant Apps will massively reduce the need to keep less-used apps installed on phone and increase storage space for the things you need like videos and pictures.

Android Oreo also delivers the new circular emoji at the expense of blob emoji. Android Device Manager is now known as Find My Device, you can track and find you device, even lock down or wipe your lost device remotely. Oreo is smarter and can learn your sharing habits, it will suggest you apps and information related to your activities. Android O also supports Mouse pointer capture which lets your Android powered devices to take mouse input ( I don't know why one would connect a mouse or a keyboard to his phone). Now you also get Downloadable fonts, this means every app on your phone requiring its own font library can now call upon a shared library, further reducing app file size. There are many similar features which will give Android Oreo user more control and better user experience.

Android Oreo was released on 21 August 2017 and is available on Google Pixel and Nexus devices but you will have to wait for some time to get the latest update if you are using any other devices, as of 2017 only 17.8 percent devices use Android Nougat which was released last year and we can see similar numbers for Oreo next year. In conclusion, next time someone asks for a recommendation, just say any phone that runs Android Oreo, because for the first time the software outshine's the hardware.

In short, it is one of its kinds and obviously it does serve the purpose of a new Android update in your smart device.
